What is a Menstrual Cup

What is a Menstrual cup?

A menstrual cup is a soft cup made from silicone or rubber that is inserted into the vagina, its folded to be inserted and then opens out once inside. It's similar to a tampon but where a tampon absorbs the moisture and liquid inside your vagina which can dry it out and upset your delicate PH balance. A menstrual cup collects the blood.

A Menstrual cup can hold 3 times as much blood as a tampon and can be worn for up to 12 hours. You simple empty as many times as you need to, this will depend on how heavy or light your periods are.

A menstrual cup can last up to 10 years, which blows my mind. The amount of savings for this one product, environmental and financial are amazing!
In a lifetime one individual will use up to 11,000 disposable period care products, these often end up in the oceans or landfill and a lot of these products contain plastics and chemicals. A menstrual cup is an eco-friendly alternative.

Your cup opens up once inserted and creates a seal against the vaginal wall, this means that it stays securely in place until you're ready to empty it.
Once you break the seal and gentle remove your cup, all you need to do is simply pour away the contents, rinse and re-insert.
