Can't Reach Your Cup?
First things first, relax. Your body will tense if you're stressed.
Try getting into a position like a deep squat, or even ‘Happy Baby’ pose (lying on your back with feet in the air, bending knees towards chest), to encourage lengthening of the pelvic floor instead of pushing. This may also increase space in the vaginal canal and may assist in removal. Bearing down can contribute to the weakening of your pelvic floor. If bearing down is necessary, do so gently, as if releasing gas or having an easy bowel movement.

It Can't Get Lost!
Your menstrual cup cannot get lost inside you, so if you can't reach it, don't panic! Try to keep calm or practise some relaxation techniques before trying again. Some deep belly breaths usually will help. Sometimes it's better to have a break and do something else for a while before giving it another go too. Your vagina is a muscle so if you are stressed, it will tense up.

Try In The Shower
We recommend removing and reinserting in the shower to get used to the cup and your body. You are generally more relaxed there and if you are unsure about how much blood or feel strange about handling it then the shower is great for washing everything away quickly and the cup will be easier to reinsert when it's already wet.
It also avoids the worry of spills when you are getting to know how things work for you.

Trial Run
Trying out your cup for the first time while not on your period is a great way to get used to inserting and removing as practice runs for the real deal. You can keep it in for a few hours, just make sure you remember to take it out as once you have it in the right position you won't feel it there, so it could be easy to forget!

Lubricate
Inserting your cup when it's wet might be easier and more comfortable, or you can use a drop of water based lubricant. We like to remove/insert ours in the shower, it makes emptying and cleaning a lot easier and if you are a bit nervous then the shower is a nice place to help you feel relaxed.

Back Up
In the beginning you may want to use a reusable pad or period underwear as backup in case you haven't quite nailed the fit or positioning, just a bit of peace of mind for the first few tries.
If you are getting frequent leaks please do get in touch as it may be due to having the wrong size cup.
