Choosing the right size can often be the stumbling block that prevents many of us getting started. We've been there. So let's talk size...

Like every body, every vagina is different. There is no right, wrong, big, or small where vagina's are concerned. They are all individual and incredible.

A common mistake is to buy a menstrual cup size depending on how heavy your period is. The sizing is based on diameter instead of capacity. Because the cup sits in the vaginal canal, sizing depends on it creating a seal against the vaginal wall and your pelvic tone, NOT how much it can hold.

At Sea + Flo we have two sizes, A and B. To help you choose your size, we have some general guidelines below.

If you are unsure or in between, its best to size up. This is because its easier for your vagina to accommodate a slightly larger diameter than it is to form a seal on one that is too narrow and slipping down.

  • Cup A

Cup A is typically the best fit for those that...

    • Haven't had a full term pregnancy
    • Under 30
    • Have a medium to low cervix - Not sure of your cervix height, click here for a little help.

  • Cup B

Cup B is typically the best fit for those that...

    • Have had a full term pregnancy
    • Over 30
    • Have a medium to high cervix - Not sure of your cervix height, click here for a little help.

We suggest trying the size that you feel you relate to the most.

If you experience ongoing leaking, discomfort or any other problems please do take a break from using and get in touch with us and we will be happy to help advise you from there.

GET TO KNOW YOUR

Your Cervix

Having an awareness of how high your cervix sits can really help you to have a rough idea of where you cup will sit.

All vaginas are different and all cervix sit at different heights, you may have already looked at your cervix height when deciding which size cup to purchase.

Your cervix also changes position during your cycle. It is lower during your period and just before and after.

The entire cup sit inside the vagina, including the toggle, so if you have a low cervix, its advisable to go for the size A cup as its slightly shorter than the B cup.
